FAQ

What sets Tumble ‘N Dance apart from other dance/gymnastics studios?

- One-way glass observation windows for parents to view their child’s class at any time!

- Front desk staff available to assist you during regular instructional hours.

- Ability to take multiple classes, such as ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics, etc. by only having to come one day per week. Our specialty is “combination classes”!

- All classes have a student capacity limit. Therefore classes will not be overloaded, unless an additional teaching assistant is added to the class.

- Parents can pre-register their children for classes before enrollment is open to the public. That means returning students have first choice of classes.

- We assign both a Lead and Assistant teacher in gymnastic classes that have 7 or more students. This means more one-on-one attention for students during the critical time of learning tricks and needing a “spot”.

- Child-centered, family-oriented atmosphere that fosters optimal learning, fun, and promotes communication.

- At Tumble ‘N Dance we do not require a specific color or style of class attire. You’re welcome to choose a style of dance/gymnastics attire that your child is most comfortable wearing.

- Families with multiple children enrolled receive registration and tuition discounts.

- We afford our students the opportunity to participate in two stage performances per year; Christmas Program and Spring Recital.

- We strive to produce well-rounded dancers, gymnasts, performers, and upstanding young ladies and gentlemen. Our more seasoned Competition students have won numerous regional and national awards at talent competitions to boot!

How old do you have to be to enroll?

We accept students ages 18 months – young 3's in our Mom & Tot program. Mom & Tot classes are held per session. For students ages 2 ½ -up and who are potty-trained, we offer single and combination classes. Our program is designed for children, boys and girls, of all ages. We even offer adult classes for ages 15 and up. Adult classes are usually held per a 4-6 week session.

When and how do I enroll my child?

We usually advertise our Open House and Registration Days for the new season beginning in May. Registration is open, as spaces are available, until October. At that time we close registration in preparation for our annual Christmas Program. We reopen enrollment at the end of December through mid February to fill any vacant spots in established classes or to fill spots in new classes we may be offering. All registration is to be completed in person by the parent/guardian. We like to personally meet the parent of a prospective student so that we can get an understanding of their child’s skill level and background. This allows us to make the best possible class recommendation for your child that will meet their needs, your goals, and work best with your family’s schedule. Class assignments are based primarily on a student’s age and skill/experience level. Again, we have Open House & Registration Days during the summer, but you can always call or email us to set-up a time to come in and register. The annual registration fee, along with the first month’s tuition payment, is due at the time of registration.

How and when do I pay tuition?

Tuition can be paid by check, cash, debit/credit card, or money order. Payments can be made over the phone using a credit/debit card, mailed to the studio, in person at Tumble 'N Dance, or online at www.akadasoftware.com. Parents are encouraged to activate their child's online account with Tumble 'N Dance in order to manage their personal information, make payments, etc.  Tuition can be paid in full for the 9 ½ month season, with a 5% discount. Another payment option is remitting tuition each month. Tuition is broken into 9 ½ monthly payments. Tuition amounts remain the same every month, since the fee is based on the total seasonal tuition amount. Tuition is due on the first lesson of every month. Tuition is considered late on the 13th of the month. A late fee of $10.00 is assessed if payment is made from 13th-20th of the month. Tuition payments received on the 21st or after, will result in a $20.00 late fee.

Does Tumble ‘N Dance offer performance opportunities for all students?

All of our students have the opportunity to participate in two stage performances per year; one at Christmas time and one in the spring. All performances are optional; however it’s recommended for students to participate in order to culminate their year of instruction.

What does my child need for class and where can I purchase it?

Upon registration and located on our website, is a list of the required shoes for your child's classes. Also included on this list is recommended dance/gymnastics attire. At Tumble ‘N Dance we do not require a specific color or style of attire. You’re welcome to choose a style of dance/gymnastics attire that your child is most comfortable wearing. These items can be purchased at Kristy's in McDonough, Center Stage in Fayetteville, or online from your favorite dance supply website. Throughout the year we tend to have a boxed selection of consigned dance shoes you can peruse. Just see a member of our Office Staff to inquire. Exact shoes and dance/gymnastics attire is not required for the first class, but recommended by your second class meeting.

You can see our Supplies & Closings page for more detailed information.

How much does it cost to participate in the stage performances?

We are very budget minded when it comes to the expense for our families participating in our recitals. As for the Christmas Program, each class wears matching dance/gymnastics attire. The cost of the attire is apprx. $45.00, and following the Christmas Program, students will have a new garment to wear to their classes. We assess a performance fee of $20.00 to cover the cost of the facility, etc. In the spring, we order quality company-made costumes for their performances. In order to keep costs down, for example, our ballet/tap classes will have a 2-in-1 costume. This costume can easily and creatively be converted to wear for two different routines. Recital costumes typically cost $65.00 per costume. Most combination class students ages 5 and up require two costumes for the recital; a ballet/tap costume and a gymnastics costume. We also assess a performance fee of apprx. $65.00 per student to perform in the dress rehearsal and/or spring recital. This fee includes a trophy for your special performer, along with covering the operating costs of producing a quality and memorable recital for all.

How do I know what’s going on at Tumble ‘N Dance?

The best way to stay in tune with what’s going on is to make sure you are set-up to receive emails. We primarily dissimilate information via email. If you don’t wish to receive email notifications, then please inquire with the front desk for a hard-copy of all information. We also post signage on the front entrance, throughout the studio, and on the central dry erase board. You can always visit our website, Facebook page, or give us a call if you think you may have missed some important information.

You can see our What's New page for up to date information.

How do I know if the studio is closed for the holidays or for inclement weather?

Please refer to your Tumble ‘N Dance Closing Notice that you should have received upon registration or you can visit our website for those dates. In the case of inclement weather, if Henry County Schools are cancelled or close early due to inclement weather, then Tumble ‘N Dance will be closed as well.

You can see our Supplies & Closings page for more detailed information.

What do I do if my child misses a class?

If your child misses a class, it’s your choice whether to make-up the class or not. Missed classes must be “made-up” within four weeks of the absence or the lesson is forfeited. If you wish to make-up a class, please see a member of our Office Staff to schedule a make-up class. During performance preparation times, it’s not an option to make-up in another class. Each class will be working on their own individual choreography for the performance; therefore it can be very confusing for a child. It’s best to have your child present and punctual for each of their classes during the time of performance preparations. Tuition will not be pro-rated, adjusted, refunded, or credited for absences.

Who do I contact with questions concerning my account or classes?

If at any time you have a question concerning your account, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms. Candis or Ms. April. Also, Office Assistants are on duty during regular instructional hours. They’ll be happy to assist you as well. We don’t hold regular morning or afternoon studio hours during the season or in the summertime. Therefore, it’s recommended that you contact us via email for a more expeditious response. You can also give us a call at 770-507-5120.  In addition, you can check your child's account online at www.akadasoftware.com concerning fees and to make payments online.  If ever you have a question concerning your child’s progress or if you have a concern or feedback, please feel free to contact April at tumblendance@att.net or via telephone at 770-507-5120.  Lead teachers don’t have the time to have a detailed conversation with parents before or after class, so please direct your question or concern to April and we’ll make sure it’s addressed with your child’s teacher.

How do you become a member of the Team or Challenge/Apprentice at Tumble ‘N Dance?

The Tumble ‘N Dance Teams are comprised of staff-selected students or students selected based on an invitation-only audition. Being a member of the Competition Teams is an accomplishment and a privilege. Members of the Competition Teams are challenged to their full potential and presented with the opportunity to showcase their talents in a competitive forum. Challenge classes are comprised of staff-selected students who are emerging in their technical dance and gymnastic abilities and show much promise in increasing their talent level. Challenge/Apprentice students are given the opportunity to experience competition at the group level. A Team and/or Challenge/Apprentice member must regularly attend class, continue to progress in their skills throughout the year, show enthusiasm for learning, have a good attitude, consider team membership a top priority, attend all mandatory classes, rehearsals, performances, and competitions and be dedicated to the Team for the entire season. Additional fees are associated with Team/Challenge membership; including the purchase of premium costumes, rehearsal/choreography fees, competition entry fees, Team/Challenge surcharge, extra rehearsals and performance commitments. It is considered an honor and great accomplishment to be selected as a member of the Tumble ‘N Dance Competition Teams and Challenge/Apprentice Classes.
